Innocent Valentine
Innocent Valentine
This tutorial was written by me for those who
Have a basic working knowledge of PSP. I am using
PSP 9, but you can use any version you like.
Any resemblance or similarity between this or any other
Tutorial is purely coincidental and accidental.
First let’s gather our materials.
You will need a tube or tubes of choice.
I am using the wonderful artwork of
Tatyana Haustova which can be be HERE
You must have a license to use this work.
If you decide to use more than one tube please follow all artist TOU’s
We will be making a frame ourselves so that will be under
Your preset shapes.
We will need 2 background patterns and a mask of choice.
I am using Heart Mask by Vicky from Creative Misfits Designs which can be found HERE
Plug-ins needed are Eye Candy 3 Inner Bevel and the rest
Come standard with PSP.
Now that we have our supplies let’s begin.
1. Start by opening your chosen tube in PSP
2. Open a New Canvas 750 width x 350 height
Color null Minimize this for later use.
3. Open another New Canvas 250 x 250 color null
4. On your color pallet make your fill color Null, and your stroke color a medium or dark color from your tube, line width 10.
5. On the smaller canvas we created using your preset shapes, elipse
Make a circle nearly edge to edge on all sides, center in canvas.
6. Go to layers, Convert to raster Layer.
7. Now the fun stuff, go to your plug-ins and select Eye Candy 3: Inner Bevel with the following settings:
8. Now Copy your ring frame and paste as a new layer on the larger canvas.9. Go to Layers, duplicate. Do this three times so that you have four rings.
10. Arrange these rings across your canvas from the left edge to right edge
Just below the top edge of your canvas. Allowing just a little overlap from ring to ring.
11.Once you have the rings set the way you want them copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
12. Move your tube below the ring layer, now duplicate your tube
So that you have four copies, one for each ring.
13. Position the tube and copies below each ring as you see fit.
The following steps will be repeated on each ring and it’s corresponding tube layer.
14. On your ring layer using your magic wand, click inside the ring.
15. Got to selections, Modify, Expand Selection by 5
16. Under the tube layer create new raster layer, now flood fill with
A color or pattern of choice. I am using black
16. Now back to selections, Invert Selection
17. On your tube layer click delete.
18. Choose Selections, Select none
19. Reduce the opacity of you tube layer to about 15%
20. On the ring layer add a drop shadow of choice. I am using
H-3, V-3, Opacity 40, blur 8, color light to med pink/purple
This will leave you with a framed portion of your tube inside each ring.
21. Close out your background layer, then go to layers, merge, merge visible.
22. On your merged layer go to Image, Resize, make sure all layers is NOT checked resize by 85% then Position closer to the top edge of your canvas leaving a little room above
23. Select your back ground layer and create new raster layer
24. Go to selections, select all, then flood fill with a darker color from your tube.
25. Back to selections, select none
26. Now we go to layers, and depending on if you saved you mask to the mask folder or not you will either go to Load Save Mask and load Mask from Disk, or if you did not save it to the Mask folder then open the mask in PSP and select create New Mask Layer from image.
27. Go to layers, merge, merge group.
Depending on the tube you have chosen to work with you may be able to make some adjustments to the next few steps. The tube I am using has a solid edge to it so I will be framing the edges to keep it from looking chopped off. If you wish to frame out your entire image go to the next step, or if you want to create as a floating PNG image skip to step 33.
28. Make your top layer active then create new raster layer.
29. Go to selections, select all, and then flood fill with a color of your choice. I am using the same color I used for my mask layer.
30. Go to selections, Modify, Contract by 10 then click delete. This will leave a frame around the outside of your image.
31. Go to Effects, Eye Candy 3 and use the same inner bevel you used on your ring frames.
32. Select your background layer and flood fill with a light color of choice. I’m using white.
33. Copy and paste your tube as a new layer. Resize and position as desired.
If you did the framed version make sure your tube layer is under the frame layer.
34. Add Drop shadow of choice. I am using H-3, V-3, Opacity 85, Blur 3, Color Black
35. Now how you merge and save depends on if you did the framed version or if you did the unframed version with the intention of saving as a PNG.
For the framed version go to Layers, Merge, Merge All Flatten.
For the PNG Version go to Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
36. Add the artist copyright and credit information per Artist TOU’s
37. At this point you are ready to save as a blank tag, or just go ahead and add your name using a font that you feel matches the concept of the tag and your tube. Don’t forget to merge again using the same type of merge you did previously before you save and you are finished!

This tutorial is written by me for thosewho have a basic knowledge of PSP. Any similarity to

To begin we will need the following supplies:
1. A tube of choice preferably with a close up layer included
I am using the ass kicking artwork
of Freya Langford-Sidebottom which can be purchased HERE
2. a background image or gradient of choice
I am using the background layer of my chosen tube
3. Two masks of choice I am using WSL_Mask126 and WSL_Mask133
by weescotslass creations which can both be found HERE
you can find the download link on the right side of the page
4. And of course you need a font of choice
There is no need to search for filters or plug ins as
those used are all found in PSP
Now that we have gathered our supplies let's rock this thing!
1. Open a blank canvas 700 x 700 transparent
2. Create new raster layer
3. Go to selections, select all
4. Paste your image "into selection"
or flood fill with your chosen gradient
5. Selections, select none
6. Go to Layers, if you saved your mask to PSP
files go to Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
and select your chosen mask. If you did not save the mask
to your files then you'll need to open it as
an image in PSP, go to layers, create new mask layer, create
from image.
7. Go to layers, merge, merge group
8. Duplicate you mask layer
9. Make sure Copy layer is selected and go
to Adjust, Blur, Radial Blur
with the following settings:
10. Go to Layers, Merge, Merge Down
11. Copy and paste your tube as a new layer resize
and position as desired
12. Add drop shadow of choice. I used V3, H3, Opacity 85, Blur 5
13. Copy and paste your close up layer as a new layer, now
on your layer pallet drag this below your tube layer and position
as you see fit
14. Add your second mask to the close up layer
15. Go to layers, merge, merge group
16. Reduce the opacity of this layer to about 35%
17. On your layer pallet close out your background layer or if
you intend to save as a PNG instead of JPEG then just delete layer
18. Go to layers, merge, merge visible
19. Now go to Image, Resize, make sure "All Layers" is
NOT checked and resize to 80%
20. Back to Image, Resize, "All Layers" checked, resize to 400 x 400
21. Add artist copyright info, your watermark, and name.
22. If saving as a PNG go to layers, merge, merge visible.
If saving as a JPEG make sure your background layer
is visible, and merge, merge all flatten
23. Share you finished tag, and enjoy!

Checkered Christmas
This tutorial was written by me for those

A tube of Choice I am using the wonderful work
of Charles Bristow which does require a license for use, and
may be purchased HERE.
FTU Scrap Kit called Freebie_Xmas Candy Cane
by Lacarolita's Designs can be found HERE
Mask by Melissaz Creationz found HERE
I'm using MC_Mask2
and of course a font of choice I'm using Santas Sleigh
No real plug ins used, just drop shadow a few times
Now that we have gathered our supplies and material
we are ready to begin:
1. Open your tube, and my check pattern in PSP
2. Create a new Canvas 700 x 700 transparent
3. create new raster layer and flood fill with pattern using
the checkered pattern provided.
4. (this step varies depending on if you saved the
masks to you PSP folder or not) If you did then go to
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk, and select
MC_Mask2 settings are:
If you did not save the mask to your PSP folder then please
open mask MC_Mask2 in PSP go to Layers, New Mask Layer, From Image
and select you MC_Mask2 image
5. Open Candy Cane Sleigh from the scrap kit, resize as you see fit
and paste as new layer on your image. Add a drop shadow of choice
I used V3, H3, Opacity 85, Blur 7, Color Black
6. Copy and paste any filler elements of choice from the scrap kit
I chose the Candy Cane Presents, add the same drop shadow as before
7. Now add your tube. Resize and position as needed
add a drop shadow, I used V3, H3, Opacity 80, Blur 3, Color Black
8. Close out visibility on you background layer, go to
layers, merge, merge visible
9. Now go to Image, Resize, make sure that "all layers" is
checked, and resize your image to 400 x 400
10. Here you can choose to delete your background layer, or
merge all flatten which will change your background to white.
11. Add artist copyright information and Name and your finished!

2. Go to selections select all.
3. Copy a paper of choice and paste into selection for your background.

8. Go to selections. modify, expand by 10
9. Using a second paper of choice create new raster layer, copy
your paper, and paste into selection. now move this layer beneath your frame.
10. Copy your tube and paste as new layer.
11. Position your tube as desired over your frame. Add a drop shadow
I used 3h x 3v, color black, opacity 100.
12. Duplicate your tube layer and move the duplicate under
your frame layer.
13. Back to your original tube layer. Using your eraser tool remove the
bottom edge of the tube so that it looks like the
tube is behind the frame. ( this should give the effect
of the tube stepping or leaning out of the frame)
14. Close out your original background and frame layers, then go to layers
merge, merge visible. Now make your background
and frame layers visible again.
You should have something like this now:
15. Select your tube and frame layer, go to image, resize,
resize by 80% and move toward the top until happy.
16. Add you decorations and elements of choice.
17. Go to layers, merge, merge all
18. Resize by 70 %
19. Add artist watermark, name, and your watermark if you use one.
You're done!!

This tutorial was written by me on 11-24-2008, and
is intended for those who has a basic knowledge

To complete this tutorial you will need the following:
1 Mask I am using Vix_ChristmasMask5 which can be found HERE
3 photos of your choice
I am using scenery pictures of Winter in Yosemite
taken by a personal friend and her husband.
To find a large variety of scenic photos check HERE
All effects come standard with PSP
Now that we have our supplies gathered we are ready to get started!
1. Open a new canvas 700 x 600 fill white
2. Create new raster layer
3. Go to preset Shapes You can use any shape you like
I used star 7 line width 7 foreground and stroke any color you choose
I used 080bf2 and fill color null create as vector size and position
as desired, then go to layers, merge, merge down
4. Using you magic wand tool click inside your frame.
5. Go to selections, modify, expand by 4
Selections invert
6. Open one of the images you picked now copy and paste as new layer.
Move beneath your frame layer and press delete
( you may have to resize and position your image for desired portion to be seen )
Selections, select none.
7. Using your magic wand on your frame layer select your frame.
Go to selections, modify, contract by 2
8. Using the airbrush tool with the following settings:
size: 30, hardness: 10, step: 27, density: 45, thickness: 100, opacity: 50, blend mode: Overlay
using a lighter color than your frame put random lines over the frame
to look like dust or snow I used c1e5e5
9. Go to Selections, Select none.Now go to layers
Merge, Merge down and add a drop shadow of choice to your frame.
10. Make your
white background invisible, then merge, merge visible.
you can reopen your white layer now.
you should now have something like this:

or square with a foreground and stroke of 5 fill null. Same colors as used for first frame
again create as vector. rotate and position toward the top left corner of the original
frame try to avoid covering the first image if possible.
then convert to raster layer.
11. Repeat steps 4 through 9 for your new frame.
then close out your background and original frame layers go to layers,
merge, merge visible.
Now reopen your other layers again.
12. Repeat steps 10 and 11 for a third and final frame, but
move this one to the lower right corner of your original frame.
Now you should be here:
13. Select your background layer, then create new raster layer.
14. Using your fill tool flood fill this layer with a color that compliments
your images and the mask you have chosen to use.
I filled with 8dbbf2
15. Go to layers, Load/save mask, Load mask from disk
go to layers, merge, merge group
( if you chose to use the Vix_ChristmasMask5 as I did you may need to
reposition in order to see the wording. )
16. Now go to layers, merge, merge all.
17. Resize by 70%
18. Add your name, artist information, and your personal watermark if you use one.
You're done!!!

This tutorial was written by me on 11-9-2008.
It is intended for those with a basic general knowledge
of PSP and looking for a tutorial that can be
as simplistic or as complicated as those completing it
choose to do. Any resemblance to another
tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
In order to complete this tutorial, you
will need to first complete the tutorials for both boy and girl
Thanksgiving Bears as well as The Turkey by Vicki. These can be found HERE
Upon completion of these tutorials you will have the two tubes
needed to complete this one, or you can use a tube or tubes
of your choice, but please remember to follow artist TOU's.
You will also need a scenic photo of choice, something that
shows a field or forest scenery is preferred.
A mask of choice. I have found that in my opinion
this tutorial works best with a mask that looks like a window of sorts.
I am using WSL169 from Wee Scots Lass which can be found HERE
Now that we have all of our supplies we are ready to begin.
Since this is such a simplistic tutorial there will be no screen shots.
1. Complete the tutorials from Vicki or open the tube or tubes
you have chosen to use.
2. Open new canvas 800 x 600 and fill white.
3. Go to selections, select all.
4. Create new raster layer.
5. Go to selections, modify, contract by 30.
6. Open your scenery / landscape, copy and paste into selection.
7. Selections, select none.
8. Create mask layer using your mask of choice
be sure to check fit to layer. I used WSL 169
9. Layers, Merge, Merge group.
10. Place your bears and Turkey, or the tube/tubes that you choose
as desired.
11. Layers, Merge, Merge all
12. Resize by 70%
13. Add new raster layer, add your name and any artist information
14. Layers, Merge, Merge all.
